Sustainability across the whole value chain
Solar should be a safe choice the whole way — from the raw materials in the panel to the installation on the roof. We set requirements for our suppliers, we are certified as a Miljøfyrtårn, and we publish our due diligence assessments under the Norwegian Transparency Act.
Solcellespesialisten sees sustainability as the very foundation of a renewable energy future. We hold ourselves to ambitious and demanding goals for the environment, social responsibility and ethical business conduct (ESG - Environment, Social, Governance). Our code of conduct and our requirements for suppliers and partners set a demanding standard for how the company operates. As Norway's largest solar supplier, we have since 2021 made a strategic choice to take particular responsibility within the industry, so that your solar panels meet a high ethical standard.
The company is governed by its own code of conduct, built on fundamental human rights, the ILO core conventions and the OECD Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct. That code also sets strict requirements for suppliers and partners. Each year Solcellespesialisten publishes reports on its operations under the Norwegian Transparency Act. The company's head of sustainability sits on the leadership team and reports regularly to the board.
Solcellespesialisten is certified as a Miljøfyrtårn. The company was among the initiators of Solenergiklyngen's work on value chains and of the European guarantee scheme, the Solar Stewardship Initiative.
Customers and partners are entitled to receive the ESG documentation they need from Solcellespesialisten, including an EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) where one exists.
For suppliers and partners
With Solcellespesialisten you choose a partner committed to a greener and fairer world. To work as well as possible with our partners, we are explicit about what we expect and about making sure we are pulling in the same direction. That means every supplier and partner must accept our Supplier Code of Conduct, and suppliers at high risk of breaching it must accept supplier audits and follow-up from Solcellespesialisten.
Business ethics
Solcellespesialisten is committed to sound business ethics, and to working for transparency and accountability across the industry. The principles are set out in our code of conduct, which every employee in the company knows. Employees are also trained in internal guidelines on conduct inside and outside the company, including in social settings. The board and the leadership team are held to particularly strict ethical requirements. The code of conduct is updated regularly on the basis of due diligence assessments of our own operations.
